Exploring mental health

Page history last edited by stevenmallon@... 1 yr ago

At this year's NYA we are going to explore the issue of Mental Health through seminars, human library slots and a late night chill out session.  This part of our programme is being co-ordinated for us by Louise McPake and David Plews, both of whom will rush to tell you they are not experts in this area but have a real interest in it and have journeyed with the issues involved in a variety of ways and people.

The purpose of these sessions is to inform and education, challenge stereotypes and to comfort those who feel bruised and burdened for themselves or someone they care about.  Walking through the door into one of these sessions won't be an admission of anything other than you are interested in the topic and that you're ready to learn more about it.  If you struggle with mental health issues or if someone you're close to does then these sessions are for you.
