Art Gallery – Christian Aid
What does HIV have to do with poverty? What does poverty have to do with HIV? Christian Aid believes that the two are inextricably linked and have trained groups of peer educators across the country to speak up about this important issue. We are delighted to have peer educators with us this weekend at Youth Assembly who will lead these sessions in their own creative way.
Melbourne – Scottish Bible Society

Vancouver – The Book of Revelation part 1
Does it predict the biggest end of part one of all? Is it too difficult to understand? How can we engage with the last book of the Bible and have it make sense in the world today and in our lives. Led by Neil Pratt, Director of Youth Work Studies at the International Christian College in Glasgow.
Barcelona - oops, Britney's done it again : mental health and the media
How does the media portray people who have problems with mental health? Do these representations help or hinder our understanding of the kinds of struggles people have with mental health? This session is for those who may have direct experience of mental health issues or who may find themselves caring for others who do. Led by Louise McPake, freelance youth worker and David Plews, a student from Glasgow.
Venice – Habitat for Humanity
We will explore together what it means to live in poverty housing and the effect this has on health, family life and opportunities. You will discover how Habitat for Humanity is tackling global housing poverty and, crucially, how you can get involved to make a difference. Through case studies in Chile, South Africa and Malawi we will hear how Scots are facing up to the challenge of making a difference and you will come away well-equipped to consider making your own impact by joining one of our teams in 2009. Led by Kevin Simpson.

A space for quiet and reflection. Led by Helle and Bente.
Clarity – Career on track?
Join Alison Train and Lyndsay Plews, both qualified careers advisers in this clinic-style session that will help you gain new insights on how to make plans for your future career.

Inspire – The biblical justification for inter-faith engagement
The studies here are based on the premise that the contexts in which
Israel, Jesus and the Early Church lived and ministered were multi-faith and that encounters with people who were not Jews are generally encounters with people of another faith. They are part of a wider unit which examines amongst other things the biblical principles for engaging with other faith communities. We will concentrate on the experiences of Jesus with other faiths and if time permits examine other passages which explore God's relationship with other faiths. Led by Iain Stewart, Interfaith Development Worker with the Church of Scotland.
